The Journey

Although there are a number of professional bodies that exist for various health disciplines there appears to be none currently available for seventh day Adventist (SDA) health professionals who would like to make a transition from allopathic to naturopathic medicine and to work in the medical missionary field as true health reformers.  The Association of Health Reformers will act as that professional body that will offer, as well as provide services specific to the needs of health reformers who are trained by allopathic methods and would like to enter the gospel medical missionary field..

An association for SDA professional health reformers has been the burden of Joan Cornwall the founder of the association.  In dialogue with other SDA allopathic trained health practitioners she has recognised the increasing frustration felt by them at the limitations of our current healthcare systems dealing with lifestyle diseases.  Joan has harnessed her energies with like minded people to create the Association of Health Reformers (AHR) which was incorporated as a company in February 2021.  One of the key objectives of AHR is to reclaim original medicine and reincorporate the spiritual dimension to health and healing.  Another is to resurrect those natural healing therapies that are highly skilled and "in the end it will be found that nature, untrammeled, doe her work wisely and well" without toxic side effects.

The AHR has been the brainchild of Joan Cornwall who for years has worked in various western healthcare organisations.  Recognising the widening division between God's method of healing  and western medicine she has sought to highlight that God's methods of restoration is the best way.  Starting from grass root level she has worked in various nursing roles, finishing her career in improving health services within the NHS.  She has a BA (Hons) in Leadership and Management, is a trained executive coach and mentor and is a trained Herbal Practitioner and Massage Therapist.  So much is her desire to continue in the Naturopathic pathway she successfully completed her studies and qualified with a Professional Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine.
